I painted a ground (turquoise) with dry brush (cobalt blue) on top for this latest piece. The flowers are made with used security envelope and a page of a children's book.

I started by painting this piece with a solid red ground then dried brush a darker shade of red on top. Both of the written "fives" and helicopter were cut from pages of a book. The woven paper is used security envelopes.

This artwork is the first of the new series of graffiti inspirations artwork. It was inspired by a Photo Friday post on my other blog - Mia Bloom Designs.

Wow! Hard to believe it's been 52 weeks of creating graffiti inspirations. It's been a wonderful project for many reasons:

#1 -  I have shared my artwork with people who may not have the money to buy art.

#2 - Gave as a thank you.

#3 - I have been able to work on a weekly project without missing a week.

#4 - Experience with different color combinations. I tend to use green....a lot. See above.

I will continue this project but it will change up a bit. I'm going to make and leave the artwork randomly...less structured. Stay turned.

BLISS

WHAT

"What" is the word for this week's artwork. No deep meaning. Just a random thought.

QUIET

"Quiet" is the word for this week's artwork. With our hectic schedules, we all need a few minutes of quiet to recharge. I hope you can find time this week and enjoy a quiet moment.

OOPS

"OOPS" is the word for this week's artwork. I decided to omit the exclamation point. Sometimes I say it under my breathe.

IMAGINE

"Imagine" is the word for this week's artwork.

WONDERFUL

"Wonderful" is the word for this week's artwork. I tend to use this adjective a lot. Note to self: expand my vocabulary.

SOMETHING

"Something" is the word for this week's artwork. Just a random word. No special meaning.

SURPRISE

Surprise is the word for this week's artwork. I hope whoever finds this artwork will think it's a nice surprise.

CELEBRATE

"Celebrate" is the word for this week's artwork. This word has stuck in my head since last Saturday night's concert. One of the bands that I saw was Kool and the Gang. Remember them? "Celebrate Good Times....C'mon!" Love that song and that band!

BRAVE

"Brave" is the word for this week's artwork. I'm amazed by all the brave people in this world. From cancer survivors to a child who takes a stance against a bully to someone who follows their dreams.

OASIS

"Oasis" is the word for this week's artwork. Being on vacation has guided the choice of the words for the last 2 week’s artwork. I’ve able to wake up and create art when I’m inspired. It’s such a luxury. I feel like I’m in an oasis.  

VACATION

I'm a bit late posting the word for this week's artwork. I was busy wrapping up things at my day job so, I could go on vacation. As I was sitting at work I thought the perfect word for this week would be "vacation". What was your favorite vacation?

GLORY

I must admit there isn't any divine message behind this week's choice of word. On the way home from work the other day, I noticed a sign for Glory Cleaners. For some reason the name made me smile. It didn't seem like these two things go together. So, hopefully this artwork will make whoever finds it smile.

READ

"Read" is the word for this week. Besides making art, reading is my next favorite thing to do. Have you read any good books lately?

SING

This week's word is "Sing". It's dedicated to all the great singers of the world. A skill that I don't have but a skill that I enjoy in others.

EAT

Nothing too thought provoking in this week's word. I just love the colors in this artwork. These are colors that I normally don't put together. Besides leaving artwork for others, this project is helping me to expand my color palette.

REST

Sometimes I choose words for the week randomly and sometimes depending on what's going on in my life. I'm feeling tired today so, REST is the word for the week.

SHARE

This week's word means a lot to me. It feels wonderful to share. I hope this week that you will share something with another person.  

JOY

I feel like spending some "JOY" this week.

MUSE

Muse is the word for this week.

PLAY

I decided to play this weekend instead of cleaning my place. So, I thought "Play" would be a great word for this week's artwork. I hope everyone can make some time to play in this coming week.

AWAKE

In honor of daylight savings time, this week's artwork is "Awake".

I don't know about you but I'm still not awake.

It's going to take a few days to adjust to it.

ART

I know exactly where I'm going to leave the artwork for this week.

It will be left on Saturday, March 10th in Seal Beach, CA.
