Wow! I can't believe it has been over one year since I posted on this blog. I'm going to be out and about with some friends, who are visiting from out of town. It's a perfect opportunity to abandon some art.

Give Thanks

It's been quite some time since I abandoned a piece of art. I thought today would be a perfect day to start again. I'm very thankful this year for my family and friends. Today, I will be joining friends at The SmokeHouse Restaurant and will leave this artwork. If you find this artwork, I would love to hear from you.

Collages #7 and #8

Collage #7 and #8 will be left somewhere in Palm Springs, CA this weekend. More collages using bleeding tissue paper but this time I've incorporated a bit of machine stitching.

This piece will be left at It's A Grind Coffee House in Murrieta. 

I've been playing around a lot with bleeding tissue paper in my collages. This piece was made by layering matte medium so it dried in peaks. Then I adhered different bleeding tissue paper on top. Overlapping in areas. I hope whoever picks it up will enjoy it.

I'm heading out to Road to California today and going to leave this artwork there. I made the paper in a workshop given by Mary Beth Schwartzenberger. The paper is adhered to the canvas board background of brown tissue paper with Weldbond.

I will be leaving this collage at the artist reception for SAQA's "Shades of Passion" exhibit at Poway Center for the Performing Arts tonight between 5pm to 8pm. 

Collages #2 and #3

I'm going to art bomb at two locations this week. One of the locations is the Palm Springs Convention Center where Quiltfest Oasis will be held. The festival will run from October 2 -4. The other location will be in Temecula on Friday night.

Collage #1

This artwork will be left tonight at the Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery. This piece developed from my recent exploration of collage. It's made from handmade paper and a really leaf from my yard.

CREATE WITH INTENTION

It's been quite a few months since I did some art bombing. I'm meeting up with a friend at Cerritos Library today so, it will be the perfect opportunity to leave this piece. If you find it, I would be interested to hear if you're going to keep it or leave it in another location.

I'm headed to San Diego this Saturday until Tuesday (4/26-4/29). I'm going to take the opportunity to do some art bombing while I'm there.

LUCKY

Recently, Scottish jazz singer Cathie Rae contacted me about using my "Lucky" artwork on her cd cover. I was so excited and honored. As a kid, I always dreamed of designing art for album covers. So, I'm checking that item off my bucket list.

It's an amazing cd with original songs along with old standards such as "La Vie En Rose". The music is perfect background when I'm creating art.

RESPOND left near Glacier National Park, MT

joanell connolly left RESPOND at The Park Cafe in St. Mary's at the east side of Glacier National Park  in Montana. She saw a woman pick it up, show it to her friends and kept it. It's so cool to hear that someone liked it enough to pick it up. I hope that she leaves a comment.

WOW

I'm heading to Long Beach for the final day of International Quilt Festival and will be leaving this artwork there.

BURST and Peace Sign left in Canada

Art Bombing Follow up

Diana Eicher emailed me this photo of the artwork she left at Minneapolis College of Art and Design where she works. It's fun to see where the artwork is being left.

Diana, also, left one for her nephew, Spencer, to find. He is going to leave that artwork at his summer job in the art room at the St. Mark's school in St. Paul, MN.
